The pupils should work alongside external agencies to achieve awards in either GCSE PE, Sports Leader Award (JSLA) programmes, which lead to Community Sports Leader Award (CSLA).
They will perform extensive Water safety, Survival and Life guarding procedures.
They will become efficient in dealing with numerous safety and rescue methods and procedures.
The students will also practices and become able in a range of events such as Water Polo and Synchronised Swimming.
They will learn the foundation skills and enable them to use the skills in other areas.
The students are to be constantly asked and tested toi further enhance their knowledge and understanding of how to outwit opponents in races, starts and turns; evaluate performances; analyse strengths and weaknesses in the strokes; whilst developing, adapting and refining skills, strategies and tactics to produce high levels of performances and high quality techniques.
Alongside this the students will also have developed their own training diary over the period which they will use to teach / coach others in their chosen and specialised areas, using training, activities and skills that they have performed to develop theirs, and other student’s skills.
They will also to plan short skill and fitness routines and have to plan / organise / and officiate a festival.
